Defender Matt Newman tonight is expected to make his first Folkestone start of the season in the Kent Senior Cup.

Folkestone manager Neil Cugley has hinted some changes to his side will be made with centre-back Callum Davies (hip) expected not to be involved.

"There might be a couple rested but we will still put out a strong squad," said Cugley, whose team have suffered back-to-back league losses.

"But we are at home and that’s what we want. We will give a few players some minutes and then look ahead to Saturday [at Dulwich in the FA Cup].

“We have Matt Newman who comes in. He will play and might play on Saturday.

“Ian Draycott and Ibrahim Olutade, they are good players as well. We are in a good place at the minute squad-wise.”

Newman returned to Folkestone’s squad earlier this month having missed the start of the campaign with a knee injury.

Invicta were beaten 3-2 against Potters Bar on Saturday despite goals from Ade Yusuff and substitute Ibrahim Olutade.

Folkestone and Cray Valley met at Cheriton Road in February in the Velocity Trophy, Alfie Paxman - now at Dover - scoring the only goal.

Folkestone reached the Kent Senior Cup final last term where they lost 6-2 to National League South Dartford at Chatham's Bauvill Stadium in May.
