Hythe Town boss Scott Porter hails the start of a new era after wins against Burgess Hill Town and Horsham in Ryman League Division 1 South

Trading luxury players for hard workers has been the key to Hythe Town’s fantastic recent form.
Hythe have now won six games on the spin after beating Burgess Hill 5-4 on Saturday and winning 2-0 at Horsham last night (Tuesday).
Personnel changes had disrupted things at Reachfields either side of Christmas but manager Scott Porter believes he’s now got the right sort of characters in his squad.
He said: "I’ve got a settled squad now. With people leaving, this is a new Hythe, a new era. Everyone’s working for each other.
"The spine of the team is there – Dan Eason, Craig Cloke, Danny Lye, Shaun Welford and Craig Thompson.
"I’ve got workers, not luxury players. I’ve tried that and it doesn’t work. I know what works because I had it before, when we won the Kent League and when we did well in the Ryman League.
"The changing-room’s a happy place to be and that rubs off on the pitch."
Hythe entertain league leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe on Saturday.
