Walker moves on

After exiting the FA Cup against Horsham last Saturday, Folkestone’s slightly more realistic quest for a Wembley date sees Chatham Town visit the Buzzlines this weekend in the preliminary round of the FA Trophy.
A tie at Harrow Borough awaits the victors, with Invicta manager Neil Cugley confident his side can progress in the competition.“We certainly have what it takes to beat Chatham,” Cugley admitted. “We are at home which gives us an extra advantage, and we are playing well, which also helps.
“The side is settling down nicely and with the draw the way it is, if we can get past Chatham there is no reason why we can’t go to Harrow and get a result. We know them from last year and they hold no fears for us.
“We are not a big enough club to win the competition, but the opportunity to play a conference side and earn a few extra bob from a cup run would be good.”
Another good thing from Invicta’s point of view is their league position, after they defeated Met Police on Tuesday.
“After the cup defeat to Horsham, getting the win against Met Police was very important,” Cugley said. “With non-league clubs especially, it is important that you bounce back quickly from a cup exit because it can get the players down sometimes. We played well against a good side and I was pleased we won.”
Michael Everitt missed Tuesday’s game and is rated as doubtful for Saturday. Jimmy Corbett begins training again at the weekend and won’t be available. Neither will the Ramsgate-bound Byron Walker, or defender Liam Dickson, whose joined Herne Bay on loan.
