Scouts are continuing to circle around Folkestone Invicta’s teenage goalscoring prodigy Johan Ter Horst.

The 18-year-old has three goals in his last two games and his double strike sent Kingstonian tumbling out of the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Folkestone boss Neil Cugley has described Ter Horst as "the most exciting player I’ve seen for years" and isn’t surprised he’s attracting the attentions of bigger clubs.

He said: "They wouldn’t be doing their jobs if they weren’t coming to watch him. He’s 18, he’s a natural goalscorer and people will look at him.

"He’s not quite where he was at the end of last year but if he carries on scoring goals, people are going to look at him.”

Victory over Kingstonian took Invicta’s cup earnings past £10,000 for the season.

They picked up £4,925 for reaching the FA Cup second qualifying round – where they shared a 737 crowd at Ebbsfleet – and have now banked £5,200 in the Trophy.

Another Trophy win, at home to Hungerford Town in the second qualifying round on November 2, would bring with it a cheque for £3,250.

"Things are turning round at our club and this has all helped,” Cugley said. “The finances are tremendous for a club of our size; the payday cheques, the gate receipts and selling Stuart King (to Herne Bay).

"It means you’re not looking over your shoulder; that come Christmas we’re not having to release players or sell people.

"It’s a really good time for the club."
