Folkestone Optimists Hockey Club fought their way to a 3-2 victory over Old Williamsonians on Saturday.
After making a hesitant start, Ops began to settle down and were rewarded with a goal from Tom Ames.
Both sides then won a number of short corners, but it was OWs who found the net to make it 1-1 at half-time.
The second half began in similar fashion to the first, with Ops on the back foot, and OWs were soon in front.
But the goal spurred Folkestone on and, although they had a player sinbinned, Ops then began to play their best hockey.
Constant pressure led to an equaliser from Stuart Green, and then Green was poised to score again when he was fouled by a defender. Folkestone were awarded a penalty flick which was calmly converted by Neil Bristow for the winner.
