Jimmy Corbett: Invicta's sole injury doubt

FOLKESTONE Invicta boss Neil Cugley is expecting a tough challenge over the Bank Holiday weekend as his side attempt to continue their unbeaten start to the Ryman League Division 1 South season.

Invicta won their second game of the campaign at home to Chipstead on Tuesday, following on from their opening day triumph at Worthing.

“We expect to face two difficult games this weekend,” said Cugley.

“Walton and Hersham have been in the Ryman Premier before and are looking to get back there and away games at Sittingbourne are never easy.

“I’ve been pleased with the way we’ve started the season though.

“We played some good football, especially against Chipstead. I was just a bit disappointed that we didn’t manage to win by more goals as we created plenty of chances.

“I was also pleased with the way the fans got behind the team.”

James Corbett is the only injury doubt for the weekend. He was taken off as a precaution on Tuesday but is expected to be fit for Walton and Hersham. Lee Spiller remains suspended.

Folkestone’s FA Cup Preliminary Round tie on August 30 will be at Kent League side Sevenoaks Town, after the Greatness Park outfit won 4-0 at Ash United in the Extra Preliminary round on Saturday.
