Folkestone Invicta are closing in on another new signing.
Manager Neil Cugley’s been in talks with a versatile player who can operate anywhere in defence and midfield – and those discussions are ongoing.
Cugley said. "We’re still talking. There’s nothing tangible yet.
"I’m hopeful that he’ll come to pre-season training when we start next week to get a feel of how good a club this is.
"We’re not desperate but I’ll be delighted if we get him. That should give us an excellent squad to start the season.”
Pre-season training starts on Saturday for the Invicta squad, which now includes summer signings Darren Smith and Ian Draycott from Leatherhead.
Meanwhile, Folkestone fans have been invited to an open meeting in the Wilf Armory Suite at 7.30pm next Wednesday. Supporters will be able to put their questions to Cugley and the club’s company secretary, Jim Pellatt.
