Folkestone Invicta can break back into the Ryman League Division 1 South play-offs with a win at Merstham on Saturday.
But manager Neil Cugley has suffered at the hands of the Surrey side in the past.
He said: "We seem to struggle against Merstham for some reason. They’re a bit of a bogey side for us, so hopefully we can put that to rest.
"Merstham try to play good football and sometimes you have to hold your hands up to that.”
Cugley has a fully-fit squad for the trip to Surrey, the postponement of Saturday’s game at Walton Casuals having allowed defender Frankie Chappell’s thigh injury time to heal.
And he insisted off-field matters weren’t getting his players down.
Cugley said: "They’re great lads and I can’t knock them at all. Things are a bit tight and it’s a difficult time but the team spirit gets you through."
