THE Football Association has decided not to take any further action against Folkestone Invicta following the controversial walk-off of referee Gavin Hoare during the club’s Ryman Premier League match against Hampton & Richmond Borough earlier this year.
Mr Hoare walked off the field during the game on Saturday, January 22, and play was delayed as the Strood official said that he felt threatened.
But the FA has also stated that it would consider further disciplinary action against the club should further reports of spectator misconduct be received and that the FA reserves the right to refer to this matter in such circumstances.
The club has therefore appealed for "spectators to behave in the appropriate manner to ensure we are not called before the FA again. We shall continue with our low-key stewarding, which has been effective in our climb through the leagues".
Centre half John Guest served a three-match suspension after being controversially sent off for an alleged punch, which led to a Hampton penalty during the game’s turning point.
And manager Neil Cugley was banned from the dug out for the club’s Easter games against Leyton and Dover Athletic after himself being sent to the touchlines during the Hampton game.
