Folkestone will offer half-price tickets to fans for their two home fixtures over the festive period.
While Isthmian Premier Invicta have been handed an unusual Boxing Day journey to Lewes, they will return to Cheriton Road on Saturday, December 28, as they take on Wingate & Finchley and then play host to Hastings on New Year’s Day.
Chairman Josh Healey confirmed the offer to Folkestone’s supporters on Thursday morning - less than two days after a club-record crowd of 2,906 had seen them get edged out in a 1-0 defeat to frontrunners Dover.
“I want to personally thank our fans for their tremendous support on Tuesday night,” Healey wrote, with Invicta amid a five-game run of home fixtures in all competitions.
“The result may not have gone our way but the atmosphere you created was nothing short of incredible. With a record attendance of 2,906, you showed exactly what makes this club so special.
“Nights like Tuesday remind us how lucky we are to have such a strong community behind us.
“Your support and belief is what keeps driving the club forward and, for that, we are all truly grateful.
Manager Drury blasts derby red-card call
“As a token of thanks for your incredible support, tickets for our two festive fixtures – Wingate & Finchley on December 28 and Hastings on January 1 – will be reduced by 50%. I really hope we can keep these kind of atmospheres up and continue to get behind the team.
“In the meantime, I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming four home fixtures.”
Invicta, who are sitting 13th, will look to respond from successive defeats when they are at home to strugglers Cray Wanderers on Saturday.
But boss Andy Drury took plenty of encouragement from their midweek display, Dover netting the game’s only goal, shortly after home 10-goal top scorer Dan Smith had been sent-off.
“If we play like we did on Tuesday night, we won’t be far off where they [Dover] are at the top of the table,” said Drury.
“But it’s just a case of going out there and doing it week-in, week-out, in games, and putting the ball into the net.”
The Dover derby saw Folkestone hand a home bow to forward Joe Turner off the substitutes’ bench.
Drury said: “I thought Joe was unbelievable when he came on. He pushed us forward.
“His energy drove us through the middle of the park and he was fantastic.”
Striker Smith will be available before his suspension kicks in after the game against Neil Smith’s side.
