Although Folkestone Rugby Club were beaten 31-5 by unbeaten London League 4 South East leaders Tonbridge Juddians on Saturday, they can feel proud at their performance against a side who put a 100 points on them early in the season.
Folkestone showed tremendous spirit, especially in the first half when they had Juddians rocking on their heels.
The home side took the lead through an unconverted try by wing Drew Woolford, and Tonbridge had to wait 35 minutes before opening their account through a converted try.
That gave Juddians a 7-5 half-time lead, and although they gradually gained control in the second half - led by fly-half Wessel Wolmarens who had a superb game - Folkestone never threw in the towel and received a great reception from the home support at the end.
