Folkestone Rugby Club 1st XV made it six wins in a row in London 4 South East by beating bottom-of-the-table Beccehamians 13-0 on Saturday.
The Stones’ pack were well on top in the first half, and when the backs were flying the visitors looked vulnerable. However, a lack of patience and over-eagerness went against Folkestone on several occasions.
Seyhan Fell slotted two penalties for the only points of the first half, but the lead could have been more had it not been for a missed penalty, handling errors and good defence from the visitors.
The second half saw Folkestone dominate territorially and enjoy plenty of possession, and through the skills of man-of-the-match Richard Lama, the home side put the game beyond Beccehamians’ reach.
John Eustace scored the try, but it was Lama who set him up with one of his devastating drives. Fell’s two-point conversion rounded off the scoring.
This Saturday Folkestone travel to fourth-placed Charlton Park.
