Folkestone manager Neil Cugley says his side are looking forward to proving a point or two when they take on East Grinstead at home on Saturday.
When the teams met in Sussex back in September, Invicta’s 2-0 defeat turned out to be a big result in their season.
It left Cugley’s team languishing in mid-table in Ryman League, Division 1 South but Folkestone then went on an 13-match unbeaten run and now, six months on, they have already booked their third successive appearance in the play-offs.
Cugley said: “At the time we lost at East Grinstead, we weren’t playing particularly well and there were a lot of questions being asked about myself and the players.
“But we then turned things around and we’d like to show them (East Grinstead) that we can play good football.
“The lads have done brilliantly to get us into the play-offs again with five or six weeks of the season still to go and, with four of our last six games at home, hopefully people will come along and give the team support they deserve.”
One of those four games is against Chipstead on Good Friday, which the club have designated as a Family Day with free admission for everyone.
Before then, Folkestone face an East Grinstead side who have been heading in the opposite direction to Invicta and are in serious danger of relegation.
