Folkestone Rugby Club's winning run came to an end on Saturday as they lost 16-11 to Whitstable in London League 4 South East.
But Folkestone had no cause for complaint after producing probably their worst home performance of the season.
They started brightly enough, Seyhan Fell slotting over an early penalty for a 3-0 lead.
But Folkestone then started conceding frequent penalties, one of which Whitstable converted for 3-3.
Back came the Stones again with a flowing move from right to left, releasing Ben Brooks to gallop down the wing for a try out wide, but Whitstable replied with another penalty to go in at the break trailing 8-6.
And the visitors took control early in the second half.
Rob Dengate converted another penalty to put his team 9-8 in front and Whitstable were now working very hard and were making all the good moves.
However, with minutes to go Folkestone got themselves into the Whitstable half and earned three penalties.
Fell missed the first two but converted the third to put his side back in front at 11-9.
Many of the home supporters thought that was that, but Whitstable had other ideas.
With seconds to go Folkestone earned a scrum. The Whitstable pack went for the big push and, and after a ruck formed, they went over for a deserved try just to the right of the posts. Then up stepped Dengate to put the icing on the cake with the conversion.
