Folkestone have agreed a deal to re-sign Scott Heard following his release from National League promotion chasers Dagenham & Redbridge.
The dynamic midfielder - who has previously had trials at Gillingham, Chesterfield and Maidstone - only signed for Neil Cugley's side in November 2015 after ending a six-year stay with home-town club Whitstable, with Invicta supporters contributing towards the transfer fee.
He however opted to switch to full-time football last October when the Daggers came calling, though he made just eight appearances in the National League before being loaned out to East Thurrock in National League South in January.
Hie ninth and final Dagenham appearance came from the bench when he scored their equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Woking on the final day of the season, and despite boss John Still saying Heard was in his plans for next season, he was released earlier this month.
Folkestone manager Neil Cugley persuaded Heard to agree a new one-year contract at the Fullciks Stadium and said: "Of course we are pleased to have Scott back again - I've been working on getting that sorted out.
"I'm sure he will have learned quite a bit since he was last with us and it's going to be interesting to see how he has progressed."
Invicta have a pre-season friendly with Dagenham at The Fullicks Stadium on July 31 - arranged as part of his initial transfer - which still goes ahead as planned.
