Folkestone Invicta 3 Slough Town 1
FOLKESTONE Invicta all but secured their Ryman Premier Division survival with a victory against Slough Town at Cheriton Road on Thursday night.
Invicta now lie in 14th in the table, six points ahead of Harrow Borough in the dreaded fourth relegation slot with two games to play, and with a vastly superior goal difference.
John Guest gave the home side the lead after eight minutes following a good move involving Simon Glover and Stuart Myall.
But Neil Cugley's side were pegged back when Slough equalised after 20 minutes.
Invicta regained the lead before the break.
Slough had James Saulsbury sent off for handling Mark Munday's shot on the goalline and, although Paul Lamb hit the post with his penalty, Myall was on hand to collect the rebound and slot the ball into the net after Scott Lindsey had played it back in.
James Dryden made the points safe with 19 minutes to go when he headed in at the second attempt after an initial header had cannoned back off the Slough crossbar.
At the moment there is no news of any fresh injuries picked up during the game so Cugley is likely to select the same team again for the visit of Staines Town on Saturday.
The Player of the Year awards will be going ahead after the match.
