FOLKESTONE Invicta went down to a 1-0 defeat at league leaders Yeading on Saturday despite producing one of their best performances of the season.

The only goal of the game came in the 32nd minute when Marvin Morgan was in the right place to force the ball into the net after Tony Kessell had made a fine save to deny Yeading’s top goalscorer Dudley Campbell.

But Invicta were the better side for the majority of the game and had several chances to equalise, although Yeading did hit the crossbar.

James Dryden came close twice in the first half and again after the break but he did not have his shooting boots on.

The visitors forced a series of corners at the start of the second half and Simon Glover saw a great effort go inches wide of the far post, but Neil Cugley’s side just could not find the vital breakthrough.
