Folkestone Invicta 0 Northwood 0
FOLKESTONE were left frustrated after they were unable to find the net in a game they wanted to win to avoid being sucked nearer to the Ryman Premier Division relegation zone.
Invicta had the majority of the chances on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon.
James Dryden shot wide after 14 minutes and Mark Munday forced a decent save out of the visitors’ goalkeeper Dean Lindsay after a good exchange of passes between Dryden and Joe Nielson.
Invicta’s best effort of a dull first half came after 33 minutes when Munday’s free kick from the edge of the box was tipped over for a corner.
The home side suffered an early blow when Steve Norman had to be stretchered off just 10 minutes in after injuring his ankle in a challenge with Ben Abbey. That gave a league debut to youth team player Will Dunlop.
The second half saw little improvement. Invicta came closest to breaking the deadlock on the hour mark when Simon Glover’s shot was deflected just wide of the post by Nielson after Munday had done well to put the ball across from the by-line.
