Saturday’s clash with league leaders Leatherhead will show Folkestone boss Neil Cugley how close his side are to being promotion candidates themselves.
Leatherhead are the form team in Ryman League Division 1 South but Invicta have scored 10 goals in their last three games and are unbeaten in eight at home.
Everything points towards an entertaining clash at the Fullicks Stadium and Cugley is relishing the contest.
He said: "It’s two form sides playing each other, so I think it’ll be a good game.
"Leatherhead are the benchmark in this league. They’re going to be there or thereabouts. They’ve got good players and they were one of my favourites to win the league.
"But sometimes you want to be tested. We’ll see how far we’ve come.
"A few weeks ago, we wouldn’t have been looking forward to this game so much but now we’re playing good football and looking dangerous.
"Let’s see if we’ve caught up with them yet."
