THE KM Kent Headline Raceday will be held on Thursday, August 21, at Folkestone Racecourse, and will be supported by both the Kent Messenger Group and KM-fm radio.
The first race will be 2.15pm and the gates open at 12.15pm. Alongside the seven races scheduled, the Kent Messenger and KM-fm will be present with their mascot Kool Kat and will be handing out flags and masks to children.
KM-fm will also be carrying out live links and will be interviewing people at the course. Other entertainment will include a jazz band, mascot race, bouncy castle, face painting and bungee run.
A £300,000 refurbishment of all areas has been completed at the racecourse, and the bars, restaurants and corporate hospitality boxes have new furniture, fixtures and fittings.
The popular viewing restaurant has been enlarged and now caters for 140 people, and the Paddock Café is now a brasserie, offering hot and cold meals with seating both inside and out.
The old pavilion on the paddock lawn has become a public bar, serving Shepherd Neame beers, opening up into its own garden area. Both alcoholic and soft drinks are available.
If you simply wish to sit and watch the racing, there is a picnic area in the centre of the course, which offers a great way to enjoy a summer’s afternoon.
Entrance is £12 per person, £9 for pensioners, and free for up to two children under the age of 16 with each adult. Picnic area entry is £5 per car and £5 per occupant.
For bookings call 0870 220 0022. To book a hospitality suite contact Emma Santer, 0870 220 0023. There is £3 off the entry fee by using a voucher in Kent Messenger Group paid-for newspapers.
