Folkestone are six points behind the Tanners – who play Eastbourne Town tonight (Wednesday) – with a game in hand, so they could yet finish above them.

Asked if his side needed to win more than Leatherhead, Invicta boss Neil Cugley said: "I suppose so, but I don’t think a draw would be the end of the world. There will still be lots of twists and turns between now and the end of the season.

"Leatherhead have got a good budget and good players. They know they should be up there challenging. They were always going to be one of the favourites.

"You want the big games now and we’ve still got to play Guernsey (third), Hastings (fifth), Leatherhead (second) and Merstham (sixth)."
