Folkestone Invicta 1 Merthyr Tydfil 0
A 40th minute strike from Lee McRobert was enough to give Folkestone Invicta a much-needed win in a tight affair against Merthyr Tydfil at Cheriton Road on Saturday.
Recent signing McRobert opened his account for the club with a tremendous goal when a long throw in from James Dryden fell to him on the edge of the penalty area.
The 29-year-old has proved to be a prolific marksman in a career which has seen spells with Ashford Town, Sittingbourne, Millwall, Dover Athletic and Hastings Town and he has already made himself a popular acquisition in just three appearances for Invicta.
The home side's preparations were altered when new striker Dave Flemming had to pull out after members of his close family were involved in a serious car accident on Friday.
That meant a place in the starting line up after injury for inspirational striker Ricky Reina for the first time since Invicta's FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round defeat at Welling back in October.
Folkestone: Wietecha, Morris (S Hogg 27 mins), Virgo, D Larkin, Daniels, Bower, McRobert, Chapman, Dryden, Reina, Henry. Unused subs: Yianni, Ayling.
