Folkestone keeper Tim Roberts has described the moment he became a YouTube sensation by scoring a goal from the edge of his own box.
Roberts ran out to clear a through-ball against Horsham on Saturday and his huge kick sailed over the visiting keeper before bouncing into the empty net.
Videos of Folkestone’s games usually get a few hundred hits but the clip of Roberts’ incredible goal has been watched more than 3,000 times.
And the goalkeeper, who was also featured on the local TV news and popular football websites, admitted he’s watched the footage at least 20 times himself.
Roberts said: "One of their players picked up the ball and tried to pass it through. I saw it and tried to get a good clearance.
"When I cleared it, I thought ‘this has got a chance of going in’ because their keeper was a long way out.
"It was an odd moment. I was a bit surprised and shocked, I couldn’t believe it had gone in. Everyone was jumping on me and screaming, saying ‘you’ve scored!’
"After the game I watched the replay and when we’re celebrating, I’m just laughing."
