Folkestone youngster Euan Sahadow is on trial at League 1 Charlton Athletic.
The Addicks are among a number of clubs monitoring the 16-year-old striker, who has broken into Invicta’s first team this season.
Folkestone boss Neil Cugley is convinced the Harvey Grammar pupil has what it takes to be a professional footballer –whether it’s with Charlton or elsewhere.
Cugley said: “There’s a few clubs looking at him and we wish him all the best. We’d never stand in his way.
“At 16, he’s well ahead of schedule. Clubs will look because he’s a 16-year-old who’s scored for the first team and been sub quite a few times.
“He’s 6ft, an athlete and he scores goals. That’s what people look for these days.
“I don’t want to build him up too much but he’s got a hell of a chance.
“Going to Charlton, it’s an opportunity for him to see what it’s all about. He might think ‘it’s not for me’ or he might be saying ‘I want a bit of that’. I’ll be shocked if someone doesn’t take him at some point.”
Sahadow's Invicta team-mate Scott Heard left Cheriton Road for full-time football with Vanarama National League side Dagenham & Redbridge earlier this month.
Folkestone travel to Ryman League, Division 1 North high-fliers Cheshunt in the FA Trophy first qualifying round on Saturday (3pm).
Cugley said: “They’re near the top of their league and it’ll be a difficult tie.
“Generally, the North division is weaker than the South but not so much the top sides.”
