Folkestone have completed their squad for next season by signing former Maidstone defender Phil Starkey.
His arrival follows the announcement captain Liam Friend has signed a new one-year deal.
Starkey made eight appearances as United won the Ryman League Premier Division but was released at the end of the season.
The former Arsenal and Crystal Palace man operated at full-back for Stones but Invicta boss Neil Cugley has a different role in mind for the 27-year-old.
Cugley said: "He can play right-back or left-back but I see him in central midfield.
"He's played a few games there before and he's at an age now where he'd like to play there more often.
"You do like to try something different as you get older.
"He gives us good experience and he's such a nice lad.
"I think that's the squad done now. One might come along in pre-season but we've got 15 or 16 players, which is more than enough at this standard."
Friend rejected a move to the Ryman League Premier Division to stay at Invicta.
Cugley said: "He's a good captain, on and off the pitch, and I'm delighted he's staying."
