GORDON CHARLTON: plenty of support
GORDON CHARLTON: plenty of support

GORDON Charlton, a member of Folkestone Indoor Bowls Club, has created a bit of history.

He is the first bowler to have qualified for all three televised bowling tournaments in the history of the Professional Bowlers Association which was formed in 1997.

It is a fine achievement by Charlton who will get plenty of support from the club’s members when he makes his challenge.

He qualified for the BUPA International which will be played from November 9-16 and will be shown on the BBC. He then qualified for the Welsh Masters to be shown on Sky in early Ferbruary next year.

The ultimate prize was to qualify for the world championship finals on the BBC in January. To qualify he had to overcome players home and abroad, many of whom are world ranked.
