Twenty-seven charges have been authorised against one man after a series of break-ins and thefts on an estate in just one day.
Liam Wells is said to have committed the crimes in the Riverview area of Gravesend, with all but one of them happening on Sunday, February 21.
After multiple reports of crimes, Kent Police’s Chief Constable’s Crime Squad immediately got to work and inquiries led to the team securing a warrant. Wells was arrested at his home on Tuesday.
The charges include two counts of burglary, where two cars and a bank card were among the items stolen. The bank card is then said to have been used in a fraudulent transaction.
The 28-year-old is also said to have stolen from three parked cars, with a handbag, sunglasses and high value cosmetics taken from these vehicles. He has also been charged with 10 attempted burglaries and 10 counts of tampering with a vehicle.
An additional charge of theft from a motor vehicle was authorised after a haul of tools were stolen on February 17.
Wells was remanded in custody to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody and will next appear at Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday, March 31.
