Two lanes were closed and there was queuing traffic on the A2 coastbound carriageway after a crash this afternoon.

The incident involved a car and a lorry.

The site was close to Nell's cafe at the junction with Henhurst Road that leads down to Jeskyns Country Park.

Congestion was backed up to Gravesend.

Police and ambulance services were at the scene and one person is understood to have been taken to hospital.

The road has now been reopened.

Traffic in Gravesend town centre remains congested because of water pipe repairs.
