According to the Sun newspaper today, Georgia, who now lives in Aberdare, South Wales, munches through a massive 13,358 calories each day.

The average 15-year-old of her height should weigh around 9st 4lb, it said.

But Dr Wayne said Georgia's weight would have a "serious effect on her life prospects."

He added: "She is at high risk of developing a heart attack, stroke, and certain forms of cancer.

"Her life span is going to be seriously curtailed."

He said that meant Georgia, who lives with her widowed mother, could drop dead at any moment.

According to the newspaper report, doctors have now told Georgia she must lose 20 stones or she could die.

Dr Wayne said action now needed to be taken to help the afflicted teenager.

He said: "One of the first things is to negotatiate with the mother and Georgia, and take her out of her present environment and re-educate her in her eating habits."

Now Georgia is heading off to a so-called fat camp in North Carolina.

Susan Borgman, clinical director of Wells Spring Academies in the UK and the US, said Georgia had a battle ahead of her.

She said the teenager had to "not only lose weight but learn how to make healthy choices."

Then the battle would be to maintain the wieght loss, and transfer the skills learned, after she returned home.

But Ms Borgman had met Georgia and her attitude was "exceptional".

The clinics had a 70 per cent success rate.
