Jamie Darvill scored one and made the other as Ebbsfleet cruised to victory at AFC Telford on Saturday to climb out of the relegation zone in Blue Square Bet Premier.
After the late heroics of Tuesday's draw with Luton, Fleet picked up where they left off and could have been ahead inside a minute when Joe Howe teed-up Darvill who saw a shot well-saved by Ryan Young.
Calum Willock (pictured) fired narrowly wide five minutes later as Fleet began brighter than their opponents - who won the Blue Square Bet North promotion play-off last season while Fleet were winning the South promotion spot.
Michael West fired wide on 16 minutes and Darvill saw a shot blocked by Young before the opener arrived on 24 minutes when a set-piece into the area fell to Darvill to ram home, in only his second game of the season.
He went close to his second Fleet goal when he diverted Howe's cross narrowly over the bar, but there was a scare at the other end two minutes before the break when Yado Mambo - fresh from signing a three-month work experience deal from Charlton - had to block a Greg Mills effort on the line.
After the break Ricky Shakes - recalled after international duty with Guyana in manager Liam Daish's only change from the starting line-up which faced Luton - played in Darvill, only for former Fleet defender Will Salmon to clear the danger.
The hosts battled back for a spell but the points were all but sealed on 56 minutes when Darvill slotted a ball through for Willock to fire low past Young and into the corner.
Young denied Willock a third from yet another Darvill pass before the hosts finished the stronger with half-chances for Adam Proudlock, Mills and Chris Sharp.
