THE unveiling of a new affordable housing development will take place today.

The £2.8m project at Lawrance Square, Gravesend has 20 new homes.

There are 12 two-bed flats, six three-bed houses and two one-bed wheelchair adapted bungalows.

A new road that has been created at the site has been named Jenkins Close, after the late John Jenkins, a prominent councillor.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be undertaken by his widow Mrs Doris Jenkins.
