It looks like the people of Gravesham are 'a-head' of the rest of the globe after a bid to set a new world record.
Hundreds gathered in Community Square wearing festive deely-boppers in an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people in one place wearing the novelty headgear.
The current record stands at 465 and Gravesham council, who organised the bid, are hopeful that it has been beaten by five.
However, an official announcement is not expected to be made until numbers have been verified by Guinness.
Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Mick Wenban said: “We had a wonderful afternoon at the record attempt. It was great to see so many of the community come along to support us.
"When we realised that we had beaten the world record the atmosphere was electric with lots of cheers and whoops.
"Fingers crossed that the numbers are verified and we can get Gravesham in the Guinness Book of World Records."
Shoppers and children were all part of the fun last week, with additional entertainment from a DJ and rodeo reindeer. There were even a few flakes of snow to add to the seasonal spirit.
Previous unsuccessful attempts have included the largest number of elves gathered in one place, and the greatest number of people wearing festive jumpers.
The head-bopper bid was organised as part of the council's Christmas Everyday programme which has seen a whole host of activities held in the town in the countdown to December 25.
The mayor added: "Gravesham’s Christmas Everyday has been so good and there really has been something for everyone."
