A total of 13 babies came into the world on New Year’s Day at Darent Valley.

Staff in the maternity department at the hospital in Dartford, delivered the baker’s dozen, which was one more than on the same day last year.

The first one born was a baby boy who came along at 12.37am and the last one, also a boy, entered the world at 11.45pm.

Baby Robin was born at 5.47am weighing 8lb to parents Natasha and Ian Kent while the heaviest baby, Freddie, was born at 4.26pm weighing 8lb 15oz.

Baby Bodhi was the last baby born at 11.45pm weighed in at 7lb 15oz.
