Dartford and Gravesham are raising money for Sport Relief.
Youngsters got muddy for money at Darenth Community Primary School, where pupils took part in a Mud Mile obstacle course, crawling under nets and balancing across benches to reach the finish line.
The school raised a total of £250.
Other schools are also doing their bit to raise funds, including The Leigh Academy, where pupils will run their own mile today, some in fancy dress.
Rosherville Primary School in Gravesend is holding a Sport Relief Mile With A Smile.
Elsewhere, some 20 people have been put through their paces by Ebbsfleet United head coach Dave Jupp in preparation for Gravesend’s Sport Relief event on Sunday.
The group, aged between eight and 60, learned warm-up, sprinting and stamina techniques.
“I think a few of the children and their parents were surprised at their fitness levels,” said Mr Jupp.
“I wish them the best of luck.”
Participants are training to run either one, three or six miles at the Gordon Promenade, with everyone meeting at the bandstand in Fort Gardens for an 11.30am start.
On Saturday, Meopham Leisure Centre has DJ Sarah La Porte conducting a DJ Circuit for Sport Relief, from 9.30am-11.30am.
All taking part receive a medal and a glow band. Call 01474 814199 for more information.
