A woman from Gravesend is creating an app to help rescue animals.
Jaye Graham, 22, came up with the ‘Pawfect Match' app to help people find their perfect pet, and at the same time helping cats and dogs in need.
The recent University of Kent graduate said she has always wanted to help with the welfare of animals.

She said: “I’ve always been huge on rescuing animals as have my family and some of my friends.
“I have also always followed lots of rescue centres' pages on my social media so was already very aware of the pressure they are under.
“I was brainstorming ideas one day and came up with a way to try to ease the pressure off the rescue centres and decided that a new app could make finding the perfect rescue animal fun and encourage more people to rescue.”
Jaye researched the idea and found that a lot of people hold off adopting because it takes them a long time to find the perfect pet.
She hopes her app will be able to help change this and help rescue homes and animals across the United Kingdom.
Explaining the app, she said: “The concept is matchmaking people with rescue animals needing homes.
“Rescue centres across the UK can upload their animals in one quick and easy process, and users can then search for these animals according to characteristics which best suit their household’s needs.
“They are presented with animal profiles which match their criteria and they can swipe left to pass or right to add them to their favourites.
“On each animal profile, a user can see all of their information, pictures, videos, and details of the shelter they are based at.
“Once a user thinks they have found their Pawfect match, they can contact the shelter via messaging within the app or privately outside of the app.”
The 22-year-old is now working fulltime on Pawfect, and if it’s a success she wants to expand further rather than just cats and dogs.
She said: “We are starting with just cats and dogs, but hoping to expand quickly to include all rescue animals.
“As soon as someone thinks about adopting a new pet I want them to think of Pawfect Match as the best and easiest place to find them.”
