A man has been arrested in connection with a string of indecent approaches towards women.

A teenage girl was reportedly targeted by a man taking a photo up her skirt in Gravesend as two women were also approached in an alleyway.

A man has been arrested in connection with a series of incidents across Gravesend in which women were reportedly targeted

Officers released CCTV images as part of an appeal yesterday and this morning a 21-year-old man from Gravesend handed himself in at the force's headquarters in Maidstone.

The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure, voyeurism and assault and was taken in for questioning on Friday before being released pending further investigation, a police spokesman confirmed.

It follows three reported incidents.

The first saw a woman reportedly approached and have a hand placed over her mouth while she was walking along an alleyway connecting Hever Court Road and Cedar Avenue on May 23.

A second woman was allegedly flashed at along the same path on June 12.

On July 7, a teenage girl reported a man had taken an 'upskirt' photo of her in Whinfell Way.

Police say increased patrols in the area will continue.

Detectives have continued to appeal for information about the alleged incidents and encouraged witnesses or further potential victims to come forward.

Speaking before the man's arrest on Friday, Detective Chief Inspector Pete Smith, from Kent Police’s Criminal Investigation Department, said: “We are taking these reports exceptionally seriously and have gathered a considerable amount of evidence.
