Police pursuit ends in Lower Range Road, Gravesend

Three people were taken into custody after a police chase through Gravesend.

Just after 5am today, officers tried to stop a car that was being driven erratically in Palmer Avenue, Gravesend.

A police spokesman said: “The vehicle did not stop and was pursued to Lower Range Road, where the four occupants were arrested.

"Three were taken into custody and the fourth was taken to hospital for treatment to a pre-existing injury.

“The three taken into custody were a 16-year-old boy and two 17-year-old girls, all from Gravesend and on suspicion of theft offences.”

In a separate incident hours earlier, police were called at 1.53am to a report of two people acting suspiciously in Poplar Avenue, Gravesend.

Officers attended and the police helicopter assisted the search. Eye witnesses reported the helicopter flying for about an hour over a small area.

However, no suspects were found. Inquiries are ongoing.
