The trial of three men and a woman accused of an armed raid on a Gravesend house has been halted because of illness.

An ambulance was called to Maidstone Crown Court on Friday after one of the defendants, Shireen Garraghan, became sick.

The case had been running for almost three weeks when Judge Martin Joy was forced to discharge the jury and order a retrial for September 11.

Garraghan, of Hazlewood Crescent, Kensington, west London, her boyfriend Leon Douglas, of Flowers Close, Dollis Hill, north west London, Pablo Cripps, of Hesketh Place, Notting Hill, west London, and Adrian White, of Gordon Road, Northfleet, deny aggravated burglary and two charges of possessing a firearm.

They are alleged to have been involved in the raid at the home in Poplar Avenue in the early hours of July 23 last year while armed with a sawn-off shotgun and a stun gun.

Douglas, 35, Cripps, 22, and White, 41, were remanded in custody. Bail was continued for 31-year-old Garraghan.
