Car crash in Meopham

A man is in hospital after flipping his car over on Birling Hill on the outskirts of Meopham.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was driving a silver Peugeot 208 estate when he hit a bank and flipped over into the quiet country lane.

Police were called at 10.50pm on Tuesday along with paramedics and a fire crew from Thames-side.

The man, believed to be from Medway, was resuscitated at the scene and taken to Medway Hospital.

He was due to go to King’s College Hospital in London because of his injuries.

The road was closed at Holly Hill and White Horse Road while the vehicle was recovered.

It eventually reopened at 3.30am this morning.
