Catasterous! Giant cat, named the BFC (Big Friendly Cat), abandoned by owners and looking for new home

Roald Dahl's BFG fought against size prejudices of the world, and now so must the BFC.
A cat, twice the size of a normal feline, is believed to have been dumped by his owners.
While most would consider it a 'catasterous' situation, the moggy, now known as the BFC (Big friendly Cat) is in expert hands at Battersea Brands Hatch dogs and cats home.
The eight-year-old moggy is even taking to opportunity during his stay to expand his literary horizons, reading about his namesake and similarly misunderstood Dahl character with staff at the centre.
Most cats weigh in at an average of 4kg. But the BFC is a whopping 8kg -and is 3ft long.
Given this, the friendly feline does come with a few special requirements for future owners to consider.
Firstly, he eats. A lot. And there's a chance his whizzpoppers may match his size.
He is playful and has a love for string toys and rolling around in catnip. Plus he’ll need a garden in his new home, and a particularly large cat flap.
Michelle Bevan, Rehoming and Welfare Manager of Battersea Brands Hatch, said: “The BFC has a personality as big as his friendly self and is a big hit with all our staff and volunteers; they’ve already got him reading the book which inspired his name, The BFG.
"Our team are currently settling him in and getting him 'com-fur-table' in his new surroundings where we’ve had to do some DIY on his cat pen to make sure he has space for his massive moggy needs.
"He is a domestic long hair but our staff have suspicions that he may also have Maine Coon in him – this breed are renowned for being the largest domesticated breed of cat.
"There’s no doubt that this is one of the biggest cats we’ve ever taken in at our centre. Last year over 250 cats arrived at Battersea Brands Hatch but The BFC is larger than any of them by a mile."
The live action BFG film hit cinema screens across the country this summer and Michelle added: "We really hope the magic of this new film release will help our gentle giant find a purrfect new home."
If the Queen can house the BFG, there must be someone who would love to have the BFC.
