Thirty-seven teams from across the county braved water jumps, tunnels, balance beams and a rope walk at the KM Assault Course Challenge to raise a record £15,000 for charity.
Many of the teams donned fancy dress as they scrambled to victory for 23 good causes including this paper’s charity of the year, the Stacey Mowle Appeal, as well as Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Services, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Porchlight.
Thundering into first place for the most sponsorship raised by a group was the Stacey Mowle Appeal team who collected £1,219.
The team also boasted the youngest participant, 12-year-old Max Pithman.
Organised by the KM Charity Team and supported by London Fancy Box and Swanstaff Recruitment, the challenge was held at Betteshanger Country Park near Deal.
Teams had to work together to complete 19 obstacles with souvenir certificates at the finish line. Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “I am delighted that our intrepid teams had such a fantastic day out and raised £15,000, beating last year’s charity total by more than £1,000.”
