Crash on Pelham Road in Gravesend involving six cars as police launch investigation

A driver is being questioned by police after a six-car crash along a residential street.

Police were called when the Mercedes saloon collided with a BMW 3-series in Gravesend yesterday evening.

The silver Mercedes then smashed into the grey BMW, four stationary vehicles and a wall in Pelham Road at the junction with Lennox Road at about 6.40pm.

A 31-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and taken to hospital in police custody.

He was discharged from hospital but remains in custody where he is being quizzed by officers today.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who saw the cars in the lead up to the incident or people with dashcam footage to come forward to help with inquiries.
