A drug dealer caught with £640 worth of crack cocaine in his wallet has been jailed for five years.

Akeem Kassim, 25, was arrested at a property in St Patrick's Gardens, Gravesend, after officers armed with a search warrant found his wallet hidden beneath a sofa cushion.

The drug was separated into 32 packages and wrapped tightly in cellophane.

Kassim denied possession of a class A drug with intent to supply but was found guilty by a jury and sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court.

Investigating officer Det Con Shaun Ravate said: "Drugs ruin lives and Kent Police takes a zero tolerance approach to those who seek to benefit financially from the misery of others.

"Akeem Kassim was found with a significant amount of drugs in his wallet and it was clear these were not intended for personal use.

"I hope this sentence sends a clear message to drug dealers that you are not welcome in Gravesend or anywhere else in Kent, and we will use every tool at our disposal to ensure you are removed from the streets and put behind bars."
