The van had been driven away but was found later in Old Perry Street - and when officers searched the surrounding area they found and seized several bags containing white powder, believed to be Class A drugs.

A 33-year-old man from Shorne was later arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

He has been released pending further investigation.
