Ebbsfleet United faces being forced out of business for failing to publish its accounts.

The club, which has been beset by financial problems in recent months, is in the process of being "struck off" by Companies House as its documents are nearly two months out of date.

A warning notice, called a first gazette, has been issued declaring the company will cease to legally exist unless it takes action.

The club's accounts for the period up to May 31, 2018, were due to have been published by February 28 this year.

It will now have three months to rectify the situation until the company is removed from the register as a result of failure to file company accounts or non-payment of tax.

Ebbsfleet managing director Dave Archer told KentOnline today: "The accounts are being done next week."

He declined to comment further.

The news comes as Ebbsfleet are to be suspended from their training ground over an unpaid bill of around £30,000.

Ebbsfleet players earlier issued two public statements criticising the club's owner for delays in being paid.

The club's off-field problems also led to the team to make a stand by refusing to warm-up before a recent league game.
