An elderly cyclist is in a serious yet stable condition after she was found lying in the road.

The woman, in her 70s and from the Gravesend area, was found in Green Farm Lane, Shorne at around 11.25am yesterday.

She suffered a serious back injury and was taken to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are still trying to find out how the woman was injured.

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw a silver Marin pedal cycle being ridden by a woman in an orange hi-vis jacket in the area yesterday.

They are also keen to see any dash cam footage which shows the cyclist and any other vehicles in the area before 11.25am.
