Fancy owning your own temple?
The former Sikh temple in Clarence Place, Gravesend, has gone on the market, and it could be yours for an offer in excess of £900,000.
It is being marketed by Balgores in Parrock Street.
The details read: “An exciting opportunity to purchase this former Sikh Temple, which we feel will be suitable for conversion to a nursery, day centre, or reception rooms/conference rooms subject to planning.
“Situated in a prestigious location, overlooking an open park and located within one mile of Gravesend town centre, which offers an excellent range of shopping and social amenities, together with a high speed rail service into London St Pancras International in 25 minutes.
“Ebbsfleet International Station is located within 3.1 miles. This unique and interesting building offers extremely generous and versatile accommodation and is bound to appeal to local and national investment purchasers.”
The building has a reception area, large prayer hall, function room, gents’ and ladies’ toilets, lower ground floor, dining hall, storage room, kitchen, mezzanine deck area, office and reception room.
Planning permission to demolish the former temple and replace it with flats was originally granted back in 2009 but due to the recession, building work never began and permission for the scheme lapsed.
There was a small rubbish fire there on March 12 but it was quickly put out.
