There is always something magical about theatre when the cast fly across the stage.

Add a sprinkle of fairy dust, swashbuckling pirates and a huge crocodile along with big laughs, songs and dance and Christmas panto fun and you have Peter Pan - this years must see show at the Woodville.

Presented by local theatre company, Wicked Productions, the performance had everyone in fits of giggles and the audience up and dancing to the hit song Baby Shark at some parts.

Despite some small wardrobe malfunctions, the team of amazing performers handled it well, including it into the script and making it the funniest panto I have seen in a long time.

This year the cast included JJ Hamblett from boy band Union J as Peter Pan, firm favourite Robert Pearce as hilarious pirate dame Mrs Smee and Rob Cummings as the evil but not so terrifying Captain Hook.

Mrs Smee had everyone in fits of giggles along with her crew of not so smart pirates, with scenes such as the Boombox Routine and What I Would Be If I Wasn't a Pirate.

Even when 'her' dress came undone she continued through the performance incorporating it into the dance.

Robert Pearce was a wonderful performer and without him I fear that the show would not have been the same.

For me, it was a 10 out of 10 and I hope to see him back next year.

The crowd were able to follow Wendy, Micheal, John and Peter as they travelled to Neverland to meet the lost boys and defeat the pesky pirate Captain Hook.

Along the way they meet a group of red Indians led by Princess Tiger Lily and when they join together they are unstoppable.]

The pirates have no chance at beating them this time.

The special effects were incredible, with a screen on the stage that showed special animations, strobe lights, and smoke.

There is even a scene where Mrs Smee is at the bottom of the ocean in the pitch black darkness and surrounded by florescent sea creatures.

I would definitely recommend going to see this show as the perfect Christmas treat for the whole family to enjoy.

It is full of laughs, fun and some innuendos that only the adults will understand.
