A man from Gravesend was one of three people killed in a horrific crash.

The 48-year-old was a passenger in a pick-up truck that collided with a car, travelling in the opposite direction on Wrotham Hill on the A20, on Sunday afternoon.

The 63-year-old male driver of a Mercedes – from Lee, south east London – and his 78-year-old female passenger – from Barnehurst, in Bexley – also died at the scene.

Post-mortem examinations on the trio were due to be carried out on Wednesday, December 23.

Three other people – the male driver and two female passengers from a Toyota Hi-Lux – were taken to Maidstone Hospital with serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

It is not known if they are also from Gravesham.

Floral tributes now mark the spot where the crash happened, at about 4pm.

The road was closed overnight in both directions until 7am on Monday.
