Old Gravesendians get the ball moving against Charlton Park
Gravesend consolidated their place at the top of London 1 South with a 37-12 win at home against Chobham on Saturday.
The visitors went 6-0 ahead through two penalties but on the stroke of half-time, Tony Nolan crossed for Gravesend.
After the break, Gary Gray kicked a penalty to give Gs an 8-6 lead and they never looked back, with Dan Abbey scoring a try, converted by Gray, soon after.
Chobham responded with a penalty but Gray scored a superb individual try and converted his own score to make it 22-9.
The visitors and Gray exchanged penalties to make it 25-12 before Nolan added his second try and Gray converted for his 17th point.
As the visitors tired, Nolan outstripped the defence to seal his hat-trick and Gs’ sixth win in as many games.
Old Gravesendians suffered a 21-0 home defeat by unbeaten Charlton Park in London 3 South East.
Three converted tries in the opening 17 minutes were enough to secure the win for the visitors over a depleted Old Gs, missing two scrum-halves.
Vigo allowed Ashford to come from behind to secure a last-gasp 19-19 draw in Kent 1.
